About In 2009, Nathan Head took on the role of Raymond Korkinsky in the
acclaimed horror feature Mark Macready and the Archangel Murders. Hailed by
Gorezone magazine as “British independent film at its best” and awarded a
five-star review, the film received a limited UK cinema release over the 2009
Halloween weekend alongside Halloween and Someone’s Knocking at the Door. It
went on to win “Most Original Horror” at Horror UK’s 28 Hours Later Festival
and earned a special commendation at The Festival of Fantastic Films, the UK’s
longest-running genre film event. The film also gained international exposure,
with screenings at prestigious festivals worldwide, including Festival de
Cannes, Grimm Up North, Mayhem Horror Film Festival (Nottingham), Zer09 (New
York), Rocky Mountain Horror Film Festival (Canada), Glastonbury Film
Festival, and Salford Film Festival, as well as features on Sky TV and Beatnik
TV at Nexus Night Café. Building on the film’s success, Nathan reprised his
involvement with the franchise by voicing a character in the animated spin-off
Mark Macready: Underworld Tales, released on Halloween 2010 as a special gift
to fans who had supported the series.
"Decent FX, gore and laughs combined... starring
Ryan McDermott and Nathan Head, it is an onslaught of supernatural gore
comedy... truly independent British film at it's best." 5/5 - Dean Boor, Gorezone Magazine
"humour that has been thrown
in to nearly every scene and it saves the movie... I'll put it down to my
liking for Nathan Head and his ability to ad lib in a way that makes me laugh
heartily." NX Live
"Nathan Head clearly does
his slightly possessed, sinister, untrustworthy Russian with great pleasure... quite frankly I
could have watched a whole lot more." Noel Mellor
The Archangel Murders originated as a remake of a 2008 faux trailer, which
itself reimagined an earlier student film. Following the completion of the
first cut in 2008, the producers undertook significant reshoots, during which
certain characters were omitted from the final version while others were
expanded with additional material. This process ultimately shaped the
definitive cut of the film, which was completed and released in 2009.
