Virus of the Dead shows a worldwide zombie apocalypse triggered by terrorist Abela (Kathryn Eastwood) releasing an engineered virus, told entirely through vlogs, news clips, web chats, and smartphone footage. Nathan Head plays Andy, who, while on his way to meet a friend, is chased through the trees by zombies. Wild Eye Releasing launched the film digitally on Vimeo On Demand and Amazon Prime on November 14, 2018, followed by a North American DVD release via Ammo Content on April 9, 2019, and an MVD reissue on December 17, 2019. In 2022, Wild Eye released an unofficial sequel, Plague of the Dead.
